Production Support Engineer - Cloud, Kubernetes

Overview

The Apps Support Intermediate Analyst provides technical and business support for Citi applications, resolving user issues, supporting application releases and production operations, and driving stability, efficiency and effectiveness initiatives.

What you'll do

• Provide technical and business support for users of Citi applications.
• Field issues and queries from stakeholders, provide short-term resolutions and work with relevant technology partners on long-term remediation.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of how applications support areas integrate to achieve business goals.
• Act as a liaison between users and traders, internal technology groups and vendors.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing.
• Participate in application releases from development and testing through deployment into production.
• Perform post-release checkouts after application releases and infrastructure updates.
• Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
• Consider the implications of applying technology to the current environment.
• Analyze applications to identify risks, vulnerabilities and security issues.
• Make evaluative judgments based on factual information and resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions.
• Cooperate with Development colleagues to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
• Exchange ideas and information.
• Take active involvement in and ownership of Support Project items covering Stability, Efficiency and Effectiveness initiatives.
• Perform other duties and functions as assigned in a concise and logical manner.
• Operate with a limited level of direct supervision, exercise independent judgment and autonomy, and act as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and other team members.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhere to policy, apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage and report control issues transparently.

What you'll need

• 5-10 years experience.
• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge or interest about apps support procedures, concepts and other technical areas.
• Participation in some process improvements.
• Previous experience or interest in standardization of procedures and practices.
• Basic business knowledge and understanding of financial markets and products.
• Knowledge or experience of problem management tools.
• Understanding of how the sub-function integrates within the function and commercial awareness.
• Ability to evaluate sometimes complex situations using multiple sources of information.
• Developed communication and diplomacy skills to persuade and influence.
• Good customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical skills in Unix/Linux, SQL, Kubernetes, Cloud—AWS or Google, Oracle, Couchbase and ELK.
• Monitoring and observability skills in Geneos, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics or Google Cloud Observability.
• Experience: 5 o 8 yrs.
