Overview
Project MIS & Coordination Engineer supporting program management, reporting, scheduling and governance for a Micron facilities and construction program.
What you'll do
- Own and maintain the program MIS framework, including data structures, reporting templates, critical metrics and governance cadence.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports, executive summaries and leadership review decks for the Program Lead, site leadership and global Facilities / Construction teams.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards (e.g., Power BI) covering schedule performance, physical progress, cost and cash flow, workforce and equipment, safety statistics, quality and open issues.
- Consolidate and validate data from contractors, consultants and internal teams; reconcile reported progress against site verification and measurement.
- Track earned value metrics (SPI, CPI, S-curves) and highlight variances, trends and forecasts with clear commentary.
- Support development and maintenance of the integrated master schedule (Level 1–4) in Primavera P6, aligning contractor schedules with Micron turning points such as building ready, cleanroom certification, tool move-in and production readiness.
- Run periodic schedule updates, critical-path and float analyses, look-ahead (3-week / 6-week) plans and delay / impact assessments.
- Review contractor baseline and update submissions for logic, resource loading and compliance with contract requirements.
- Supervise interface breakthroughs between civil, structural, architectural, MEP, process utilities and tool install packages.
- Organise and facilitate program review meetings, contractor progress meetings and multi-functional coordination forums; publish minutes and drive action-item closure.
- Maintain action, issue, RFI, submittal and decision logs; call out overdue or critical items to the Program Lead.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement / Supply Chain, Finance, EHS, Quality, IT and Operations to align priorities and resolve interface issues.
- Serve as liaison with global Micron Facilities and Construction teams on reporting standards, templates and guidelines.
- Track budgets, commitments (POs / contracts), actuals, accruals and forecasts in coordination with Finance and Procurement; support monthly financial close and cash-flow forecasting.
- Maintain the change / variation register; support evaluation of change requests for cost and schedule impact and track approvals.
- Monitor contractor billing against certified progress and support invoice verification workflows.
- Maintain the program risk and opportunity register; facilitate periodic risk reviews and track mitigation actions and owners.
- Identify emerging risks from data trends (e.g., productivity drops, long-lead procurement delays, manpower shortfalls) and raise early warnings.
- Supervise document control processes in the Common Data Environment (e.g., Aconex, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint), including drawings, specifications, submittals, transmittals and as-builts.
- Ensure version control, approval workflows, numbering conventions and records retention comply with Micron standards and audit requirements.
- Support handover documentation, O&M manuals and close-out records for facility turnover to Operations.
- Drive automation of data collection and reporting (Excel / Power Query, Power Automate, SharePoint lists, APIs) to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Champion standardisation of WBS, cost codes and progress measurement methods across packages.
- Contribute lessons learned and support adoption of digital construction practices (BIM 4D/5D linkage, mobile site reporting).
- Use approved enterprise AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot and Micron-sanctioned AI assistants) to draft progress reports, meeting minutes, executive summaries and leadership presentations, checking every output for accuracy before issue.
- Apply AI and analytics to project data to spot schedule slippage, cost overruns, productivity trends and emerging risks, and to support completion date and cash-flow forecasts.
- Use AI-assisted search and summarisation to pull key information from contracts, specifications, RFIs, submittals and meeting records in the CDE.
- Identify repetitive MIS and coordination tasks that can be automated or AI-assisted; build or pilot solutions with IT and digital teams and measure time and quality gains.
- Follow Micron's responsible-AI, data-privacy, confidentiality and IP policies, using only approved tools and keeping human review and accountability for all AI-assisted outputs.
- Share AI good practice, prompts and templates with the project team, and help colleagues and contractor staff use AI-enabled reporting tools.
- Integrate EHS (incidents, man-hours, observations) and quality (NCRs, inspections, punch lists) metrics into program reporting.
- Uphold Micron's Code of Business Conduct, EHS policies and data-confidentiality requirements in all project information handling.
