Public Sector Strategic Account Executive, DoW

Overview

Lead strategic public sector accounts by helping Department of War agencies modernize software development and security with GitLab’s DevSecOps platform. Own account strategy, procurement navigation, customer relationships, and expansion across complex government accounts.

What you'll do

• Build and execute strategic account plans aligned with public sector modernization initiatives.
• Navigate procurement and contracting processes with government stakeholders.
• Manage the book of business from pipeline development through close and expansion.
• Serve as the primary contact and trusted advisor for strategic prospects and customers.
• Coordinate engineering, customer success, support, and channel partners for successful adoption.
• Develop opportunities through prospecting within large strategic accounts.
• Share customer feedback and product ideas through GitLab’s public issue tracker.

What you'll need

• Experience selling technology solutions to Department of War agencies.
• Knowledge of software development, including CI/CD, secure development, and infrastructure modernization.
• Understanding of compliance requirements and agency buying cycles.
• Consultative sales skills that connect technology solutions to public sector missions.
• Ability to manage major accounts independently through complex opportunities.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and consensus-building skills.
• Openness to learning and applying transferable or diverse experience.

Details

• Remote role in the United States.
• Base salary: $122,000–$205,200 USD yearly.
• Sales incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of base salary.
