Purchase engineer

Overview

Purchase Engineer responsible for sourcing materials, components, equipment, and services for manufacturing and project operations. The role combines technical purchasing, supplier management, commercial negotiation, and procurement performance improvement.

What you'll do

• Plan and execute purchases to support production plans and project schedules.
• Prepare RFQs and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Conduct techno-commercial assessments of suppliers.
• Develop vendors, negotiate commercial terms, and support sourcing strategies.
• Monitor procurement and supplier performance and prepare management reports.
• Maintain purchasing documentation and resolve technical and commercial issues with stakeholders.

What you'll need

• 7–8 years of procurement experience in manufacturing or project-based environments.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, production, or industrial engineering.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, fabrication and machining tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of engineering components such as fasteners, bearings, motors, and gearboxes.
• Experience with vendor development, supplier negotiations, ERP systems, procurement reporting, and cost optimization.
• Essential experience in stainless steel fabrication sourcing.
• Strong collaboration, analytical, technical purchasing, and supplier management skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to international sourcing.
