Purchasing Specialist

Overview

Supports purchasing and supply chain activities by coordinating purchase transactions, supplier interactions and internal stakeholder requirements.

What you'll do

• Process purchase order deferrals, expedites and cancellations.
• Run reports for unacknowledged and past-due orders.
• Analyze prices and update material cost standards and variances in ERP.
• Support supplier business reviews and performance improvement.
• Issue RFQs and review supplier responses.
• Manage supplier price changes and support negotiations.
• Coordinate supplier readiness, critical shortages and supply chain optimization initiatives.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree with three or more years of experience in supply chain, purchasing or a related field.
• Ability to travel 25%.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
• Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to manage changing requirements and competing deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Nice to have

• Relevant industry certifications.
• Purchasing experience in the manufacturing industry.
