Python Software Engineer, Trading Platform

Overview

Software Engineer role focused on designing and developing tools and infrastructure for traders and quantitative researchers, helping expand a proprietary trading platform.

What you'll do

• Manage day-to-day technology requirements of proprietary trading systems.
• Accelerate trading and research analysis workflows using and expanding in-house infrastructure.
• Evaluate new technologies and identify or deprecate legacy code to improve the technology stack.
• Collaborate with engineers, traders, and researchers to design custom frameworks or end-user solutions.
• Write performance-sensitive code and user-friendly APIs to access in-house data analysis infrastructure.
• Lead design discussions and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience building demanding, live systems in Python.
• In-depth knowledge of Python and current standards (3.11 onwards).
• Up-to-date knowledge of the Python ecosystem including third-party and built-in libraries.
• Knowledge of a systems language such as C, C++, or Rust.
• Solid understanding of data structures.
• Familiarity with Linux.

Nice to have

• Experience in the trading industry.
• Familiarity with the scientific Python stack.
• Understanding of the latest Python package management.

Details

• Annual base salary range is $150,000 to $180,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and relevant skills.
• Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
