QA Automation Engineer

Overview

Join the Equity Finance team as a Quality Assurance Test Engineer supporting Citi's multi-year transformation for the Prime Services business. The role focuses on automated testing, software quality, issue resolution and scalable QA processes.

What you'll do

• Implement and work within a BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) automation framework.
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans, test cases, test estimations and other project artifacts.
• Perform regression testing and test automation development.
• Act as a quality gate and identify, record, thoroughly document and track bugs before software products are delivered to clients.
• Implement and execute API-based automation tests for functional and non-functional testing using Citi-approved tools.
• Identify and highlight ways to continuously optimize QA operations to create an efficient, scalable team.
• Work with the business and Production Support to investigate issues and prevent production defects.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Contribute with the team to innovative and best-in-class solutions for the business.
• Apply proven software testing concepts and methodologies to daily tasks.
• Collaborate with the development team to identify and resolve issues.
• Adapt to changing business needs and shift focus on priorities as required.

What you'll need

• Proven industry experience in automation testing with strong hands-on experience in Java.
• Solid experience with BDD automation frameworks, including Cucumber.
• Experience in TypeScript or Playwright, Cypress.
• Strong hands-on experience in API automation/testing.
• Prior experience using SQL for database validation and testing.
• Fair working knowledge of CI/CD processes, Jenkins and Git.
• Excellent logical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing business requirements and priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree or University degree, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Exposure to the Finance industry or a background in financial applications.
