Job description

Overview

Support accessibility testing for digital applications by validating user journeys, identifying accessibility barriers, and collaborating with Product, Design, Development, and Quality Engineering teams to improve inclusive user experiences.

What you'll do

  • Support accessibility test planning, scenario preparation, execution, evidence capture, status reporting, and closure activities.
  • Validate key web and mobile user journeys using keyboard navigation, screen readers, zoom, colour contrast checks, and other relevant assistive-technology methods.
  • Identify accessibility barriers related to focus order, labels, headings, reading order, forms, errors, buttons, links, navigation, content visibility, and screen-reader interaction.
  • Use accessibility tools where applicable, review findings, and perform basic manual validation with guidance when needed.
  • Log clear defects with steps, evidence, actual and expected results, assistive-technology context, and user impact.
  • Participate in defect triage, retesting, regression testing, Agile ceremonies, and release-readiness discussions.
  • Maintain test cases, checklists, trackers, evidence, risks, blockers, and learning documentation as required.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, certification, training, or practical exposure in IT, Software Testing, Digital Accessibility, Assistive Technology, or a related area.
  • Training or hands-on exposure in accessibility testing, software QA, assistive technologies, or inclusive digital usage.
  • Foundational understanding of accessibility concepts, WCAG/POUR principles, and common digital barriers experienced by users with disabilities.
  • Basic familiarity with screen readers or assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack, magnification, voice access, or keyboard-only navigation.
  • Ability to observe, document, and communicate accessibility findings clearly with steps, evidence, expected behaviour, and user impact.
  • Basic knowledge of STLC, defect lifecycle, test execution, retesting, regression testing, and Agile ways of working.
  • Good observation, communication, collaboration, and learning mindset, with openness to follow defined processes, ask for clarification, and apply feedback.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to accessibility tools such as Evinced, BrowserStack, axe, Accessibility Insights, Lighthouse, WAVE, or equivalent tools.
  • Awareness of HTML, ARIA, mobile accessibility, accessible documents, or automation-assisted accessibility checks.
  • Healthcare, insurance, finance, claims, member, provider, or servicing-domain awareness.
  • IAAP, ISTQB, or equivalent accessibility/testing certification or learning progress is desirable.

Details

  • Band 2 position.
