Quality Automation Engineer

Overview

Quality Automation Engineer for Morningstar’s Indexes team, building and improving QA automation for Indexes applications.

What you'll do

• Define and establish QA automation strategy and process.
• Create an automation testing framework for Indexes applications.
• Design and develop automated test cases based on requirements.
• Automate existing applications and improve systems using modern practices.
• Coordinate application enhancement and tech ops testing with tech and business teams.
• Document issues and assist with RCA and bug resolution.
• Participate in team communication and planning activities (stand-ups, IPM, retrospectives).

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience as an automation QA.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale, cross-functional automation frameworks.
• Understanding of test automation approaches (keyword-driven, data-driven, BDD, hybrid).
• Ability to integrate test automation into CI/CD and instrument automation across SDLC, including cloud testing execution and tools like ALM and Jira.
• Deep experience with Web, DB, and web-service testing tools (e.g., Selenium, SoapUI).
• Technical skills including DB-SQL, ETL, and Java.
• Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, QTP, JUnit, or NUnit.
