Overview

Senior engineering role on the Platform Modernization team at Deutsche Bank, focused on designing and delivering components of the LoanIQ-based loans platform, with a Full Stack Java lead emphasis.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and deliver significant engineering solution components that are reliable, maintainable and well tested.
• Demonstrate solid software engineering skills and deliver highly functional, robust and scalable code within an agile development team.
• Apply design patterns, test driven development (TDD) and behavior driven development (BDD) to build reliable, supportable software.
• Work closely with Functional Analysis and Quality Assurance teams throughout the agile application development life cycle.
• Provide release deployments on non-production management-controlled environments.
• Capture build and deployment notes and develop software product deployment and operating instructions.
• Manage maintenance of applications and perform technical change requests scheduled according to Release Management processes.
• Fix software defects and bugs, and measure and analyse code for quality.
• Provide Level 3 support and contribute to root cause/problem analysis and solution brainstorming.
• Create required project documentation and be ready to learn new Java technologies as project requirements demand.

What you'll need

• Very strong functional and technical knowledge of LoanIQ Product.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 13+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in design, architecture, source code management, continuous build and continuous integration technologies, with hands-on experience with the respective tools.
• Proficiency in Agile methodology.
• Experience working in a team development environment as well as a globally distributed project team.
• Hands-on experience as a Full Stack developer.
• Languages and frameworks: Java, Springboot, React JS/Angular JS, J2EE, Hibernate, Junit, Cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• Operating systems: Unix, Windows.
• Database: Oracle.
• Tools: GIT, Eclipse/IntelliJ, Maven, Ant, Linux/Unix shell scripting, JMS/MQ.
• Ability to architect and design a solution for a given requirement, lead the team, write high quality code, and solve business or production problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and strong interpersonal skills, particularly in a multi-cultural environment.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows, applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of messaging (middleware).
• Knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience with test automation/unit testing and respective tools.
