Overview
Research Senior Associate for Citi’s Equity Research team supporting the lead analyst for the Software sector, producing investment insights for institutional clients.
What you’ll do
- Build, maintain, and update detailed financial models for Software sector companies.
- Draft and co-author equity research publications such as earnings previews/recaps and thematic deep-dives.
- Respond to internal and external client inquiries with timely Software sector perspectives.
- Coordinate and support investor events including management meetings, field trips, and industry consultant calls.
- Apply AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance research workflows and improve output quality.
- Mentor and support junior team members through knowledge sharing and day-to-day guidance.
- Evaluate business and investment decisions while adhering to regulatory and ethical standards.
What you’ll need
- 5 to 8 years of experience in sell-side equity research or closely related investment research.
- Ability to build and maintain complex financial models with strong command of accounting principles and valuation frameworks.
- Experience supporting senior research analysts, including preparation of research materials and client-facing communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating analysis into clear research narratives.
- Active holding of, or eligibility to obtain, SIE, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87 licenses.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or related field.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under time-sensitive conditions.
Nice to have
- MBA, graduate degree, or CFA designation.
- Familiarity with the Software sector, including SaaS business models and enterprise software trends.
- Hands-on experience applying AI tools or data analytics platforms to investment research or financial analysis workflows.
