Overview
Design, build, test, troubleshoot, and document RF solutions for power delivery and plasma generation in etch and deposition products. The role supports electrical and electro-mechanical systems and subsystems, including RF delivery systems from 100kHz to 100MHz and Watt to Kilowatt ranges.
What you'll do
- Perform professional electrical engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation in support of electrical and electro-mechanical systems and subsystems.
- Work with electrical, mechanical, software, process, technical support, and supplier teams on the design and modification of custom and OEM embedded systems components.
- Design and select RF delivery systems operating from 100kHz to 100MHz and in Watt to Kilowatt ranges.
- Test RF delivery systems.
- Document RF delivery systems.
- Prepare and analyze test plans and procedures to assure technical and operational requirements are met and properly demonstrated.
- Collect and analyze pertinent material and data for presentations at design, project, and program reviews.
What you'll need
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of EM fields theory and RF metrology, including Power Meters, Network, Impedance, and Spectrum Analyzers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Outstanding analysis and trouble-shooting skills.
- Ability to work and accomplish tasks individually as well as in a dynamic-teams environment.
- This is a graduate eligible role.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with high voltage (>1kV) design rules and practices from DC to 100MHz.
- Experience with SPICE, LabView, MathCAD or MatLab, and analysis tools such as HFSS, Comsol, and Microwave Studio.
- Fundamental knowledge of or experience in plasma processing, plasma sources, and plasma loads.
- Semiconductor capital equipment or related industrial equipment industry experience.
- Appreciates learning and understanding challenges and limitations within other disciplines on system designs.
- Willingness to travel to international locations.
- Working knowledge of industry standards: SEMI, NFPA79, NEC, UL, EN, IEC, and ETG.
- Familiarity with plasma physics and simulation tools like VizGlow and EMA3D.
- Experience with RF/uW generator/source, impedance matching network, transmission line, and antennas.
- Technical working experience from 100 KHz to 100 MHz, in Watt to KiloWatt ranges, and with high voltage DC delivery.
- Familiarity with high voltage (>10 KV) and high current (>100 Arms) design rules, including arcing, tracking, heat, and paracitic.
