RFIC Circuit Design Engineer, Senior

Overview

Senior RFIC circuit design engineer role in Qualcomm's Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit design center in Bangalore, designing advanced cellular RFICs for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G transceivers for the worldwide cellular chipset market.

What you'll do

• Design RF/Analog IC blocks including LNAs, down-conversion mixers, baseband filters, and auxiliary receivers.
• Design transmitter blocks including transmit baseband filters, up-conversion mixers, and driver/power amplifiers.
• Design synthesizers including VCOs, PLLs, reference clock processing, DLLs and clock multipliers, and clock and data recovery.
• Design data converters including ADCs and DACs.
• Design power management blocks including bandgap, LDO, and reference current generation.
• Perform RF calibration and implementation.
• Perform radio floor planning, frequency planning, and packaging.

What you'll need

• In-depth understanding of analog/RF IC circuit design, IC design tools and simulators, and IC layout design, techniques, and verification methodologies.
• Expertise in RF/analog circuit design in sub-90nm CMOS.
• Experience with front-end RF and analog circuit blocks such as LNAs and mixers, TX modulators and driver amplifiers, frequency synthesizers/phase lock loops (PLLs), continuous-time filters, and ADC/DAC designs.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience, OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience, OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of power management design including bandgap, LDO, and reference current generation.
• Experience with RF calibration and implementation.
• Experience with radio floor planning, frequency planning, and packaging.
• Knowledge of LTE, LTE-NR, CDMA2000, 1X-EVDO, WCDMA, UMTS, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE chipsets.
• Knowledge of wireless connectivity technologies.
