SAP Basis Admin

Overview

SAP Basis Administrators maintain the reliability, performance, management and support of SAP systems environments, including migration tasks, production issue resolution and Level II support to the Help Desk.

What you'll do

• Follow the manager on projects and be responsible for deliverables across multiple high to highly complex projects.
• Maintain SAP systems and applications, and support and train users on SAP system and application usage.
• Support integration of changes in test, pre-production and production environments.
• Work with the production quality assurance/testing team to ensure appropriate testing is completed before implementation of change.
• Work on the installation of upgrades and patches for the enterprise SAP system, following all necessary technical checklists.
• Participate in system-wide updates, upgrades and fixes.
• Ensure the performance and reliability of SAP systems.
• Assess risk of implemented changes before performing them.
• Respond to escalated system problems.
• Monitor and maintain a comprehensive set of performance metrics for all system features.
• Identify risk levels and recommend and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain history reports, and identify and address re-occurring problems.
• Create automation scripts for efficiency and process improvement.
• Prepare documentation for customer support, such as server and client hardware/software and network configurations.
• Act as a leader for SAP projects and coach less experienced staff.
• Execute contingency plans in case of system outages and troubleshoot a wide variety of technical problems.
• Participate in projects to implement SAP services, including initial installations and subsequent installations of updates and patches.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically 5 or more years of business and/or SAP implementation experience.
• Experience with systems and database administration.
• Experience with implementation, operating, and performance management of several of the following: SAP S/4 HANA, SAP PO, SAP Fiori, SAP Solution Manager, SAP BTP, SAP LVM, SAP HANA Cockpit, SAP SLT, SAP DS/IS, SAP ECC system on Oracle Database & SAP HANA in On-Prem and Public cloud such as Azure, GCP, AWS.
• Skills in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area.
• Certification in specific areas (e.g., Basis, Oracle, HANA).
• Strong organization skills.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Good interpersonal skills; solid team player.
• Knowledge of client/server technology.
• Experience across multiple SAP software products (e.g., ECC, BW, PI).
• Good group presentation skills.
• Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting complex SAP performance problems.
• 2+ years of experience in technical support, support engineering, systems administration, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Certification in ITIL, cloud platforms, or equivalent.

Details

• Location: Pune, India.
• Employment type: Full time.
• On-call: 1 week of on-call every 2 months.
• Weekend support: 1 weekend a month.
