SAP SD IT Consultant

Overview

Design and implement business-driven, standards-based SAP Order-to-Cash (SD) solutions within Roche's global SAP landscape, including enterprise integrations, reference architectures and technology roadmaps.

What you'll do

• Design cross-functional SAP solutions that meet product requirements, business priorities and enterprise standards, managing non-functional requirements and evolving architecture across the product life cycle.
• Solve complex technical integration problems and define reference architectures for modern interfaces.
• Align with the broader architecture community for governance.
• Lead teams and squads in a matrix organization and deliver across a diversity of products, including developing approaches (e.g., Agile backlog management) and timelines.
• Prioritize, plan and report status at the enterprise or multi-product/product line level.
• Lead problem-solving for complex challenges, propose innovative solutions, and mentor and coach colleagues.
• Influence product and product line strategy, applying industry trends for value creation.
• Show leadership in Communities of Practice (CoPs) and lead cross-product collaborative team environments.
• Manage high-level stakeholder relationships and align project outcomes with stakeholder expectations.
• Communicate complex information, issues and potential solutions across the enterprise, tailoring messaging to different audiences.
• Develop and maintain the product's technology roadmap within the solution context.
• Provide technical oversight, guidance and consultation on ERP technologies for product teams.
• Identify opportunities to enhance value and business processes, manage technical debt, and research, evaluate, pilot and drive adoption of new technologies.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of consultancy experience, including 3+ years of experience in life sciences/pharma or the assigned business function being supported.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing business-driven, standards-based solutions within an SAP environment, specifically O2C.
• Proven track record of maintaining solution roadmaps, assessing technology trends and conducting vendor assessments.
• Proven experience working on high-impact, multi-faceted projects and successfully resolving unusually complex problems with innovative solutions.
• Architect, configure and optimize comprehensive SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) solutions, with a core focus on external and internal integrations using EDI protocols, IDOC messaging and ALE distribution models.
• Expertise in enterprise interface architecture, including REST/OData APIs, Event-Driven Architecture and modern middleware technologies (e.g., MuleSoft, Solace, or SAP XI).
• Strong capability in creating Conceptual and Logical Data Models, Taxonomies and Ontologies for solutions and complex data flows between systems.
• Expertise in managing Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), defining fitness functions, and establishing reference architectures and patterns.
• Ability to accurately record and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate enterprise-level portfolios and tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take new perspectives on existing solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining difficult or sensitive information and building consensus among diverse teams.
