Scraper Developer (Online Brand Protection)

Overview

Anaqua is hiring a Scraper Developer for its Online Brand Protection team to maintain and expand web scraping systems across marketplaces, websites, domain registries, and social media platforms. The role reports to the Technical Lead.

What you'll do

• Maintain and enhance existing scrapers across marketplaces, websites, webshops, domain and WHOIS sources, and social media platforms.
• Build new scrapers for uncovered sources, from initial site analysis to full production deployment.
• Ensure scraper reliability against anti-bot defenses using rotating proxies, browser fingerprinting, request pacing, and header/cookie management.
• Monitor scraper health, diagnose failures, and quickly resolve breakages due to site changes.
• Structure and store collected data effectively so downstream pipelines receive clean, well-organized data.
• Run scrapers at scale using scheduling and orchestration tools, with proper retry mechanisms and queue management.
• Package and deploy scrapers in a containerized, version-controlled environment.
• Write clean, maintainable code and document scrapers so they are easy to run, debug, and extend by others.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of relevant experience in web scraping or a similar domain.
• Strong Python experience, including real-world application of Playwright alongside Selenium.
• Hands-on experience scraping at scale against sites with active anti-scraping mechanisms, including marketplaces and social media platforms.
• Experience managing proxies, request headers, cookies, and browser fingerprinting libraries against anti-bot defenses.
• Experience with CAPTCHA-solving approaches and reverse-engineering mobile or web APIs.
• Solid understanding of HTTP, HTML, DOM, browser developer tools, and modern data-loading techniques (XHR, fetch, dynamic rendering).
• Experience working with Google Cloud, virtual machines, and containerized environments such as Docker.
• Proficiency with Git.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Java or TypeScript, as the platform evolves.
