SDET Specialist

Overview

Global Payments is hiring an SDET Specialist to join its technology team, owning test strategy, test design and execution for payment and analytics applications in an Agile/Scrum environment.

What you'll do

• Understand product requirements and design.
• Design, develop and document application test strategies, test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications.
• Execute test cases and scenarios and report results.
• Troubleshoot issues and report defects.
• Collaborate with product management to triage defects and conduct product beta testing and showcase with stakeholders.
• Work closely with application development, architecture and infrastructure teams for automation.
• Take part in performance testing and application analysis initiatives to define success criteria.
• Test business intelligence/analytics applications on cloud environments.
• Deliver high-quality software by working in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment.
• Introduce and enhance non-functional testing capabilities such as security, performance and responsive design.

What you'll need

• Solid understanding of testing principles, testing types and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and ETL testing.
• Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write and interpret complex SQL queries.
• Good understanding or proficiency in any one programming language (Python or Java).
• Extensive experience in ETL/DW backend testing and BI report testing.
• Hands-on experience identifying bugs in complex ETL data processing.
• Must have experience with test management tools such as ALM, Rally or JIRA.
• Good working experience in Agile methodologies and use of Rally and JIRA.
• Strong comprehension, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with any scheduling tool, with preference for those familiar with Cloud Composer (Airflow) or CTM.
• Proficiency in GCP, AWS, Azure or any other cloud platform.
• Frontend automation using Java/Selenium or any other tool.
• Familiarity with security testing.
