Senior AI Engineer - Director

Overview

Senior AI Engineer (Director) responsible for designing, building, and scaling AI-powered delivery capabilities. The role is hands-on, owning execution from concept through production and leading a team to embed GenAI and agentic AI into core operations.

What you'll do

• Drive engineering strategy and execution for AI-enabled delivery solutions across Vialto Labs.
• Build and deploy production-grade AI capabilities to improve efficiency, quality, speed, and scalability.
• Define reference patterns for orchestration, retrieval, workflow automation, evaluation, monitoring, and cost control.
• Design and implement backend services for GenAI and agent-based applications using Python and FastAPI.
• Guide design and deployment of agent-based systems and orchestration frameworks on Azure.
• Implement observability, monitoring, logging, and quality checks for AI systems.
• Lead team execution and collaborate with transformation, product, platform, and business leaders.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent depth).
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in enterprise or production AI environments.
• Hands-on experience developing GenAI/LLM/agent-based applications in production, including orchestration and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong backend engineering expertise in Python-based distributed systems and APIs.
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks, monitoring systems, and AI quality controls.
• Security-focused and scalable AI system design knowledge (data handling, access control, reliability).
• Bachelor’s degree required.
