Senior AI Engineer I

Overview

Own the end-to-end production AI pipeline that converts professional inspection reports from varied formats into structured, actionable data while preserving the inspector’s original wording.

What you'll do

• Build and own ingestion and extraction pipelines for PDF, HTML, scanned documents, OCR, and layout-aware parsing.
• Design the canonical output schema and extraction logic for heterogeneous source formats.
• Implement span grounding with verbatim source text and origin locators.
• Build evaluation harnesses using labeled datasets, precision, recall, and regression testing.
• Calibrate confidence scores and thresholds for automated acceptance versus human review.
• Build human-in-the-loop review workflows and monitor production drift, failures, and regressions.
• Optimize document-level cost and latency through model tiering, caching, and batching.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering and ML/AI systems experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience owning production ML/AI systems, ideally involving LLMs, NLP, or information extraction.
• Experience with OCR, layout-aware parsing, and PDF, HTML, and scanned-image processing.
• Experience designing ML evaluation harnesses using precision, recall, or similar metrics.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and end-to-end production ownership.
• Experience working with US-based business teams and strong written and spoken English communication.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Details

• Hybrid role based in India.
• Must reside within 150 km of Greater Delhi NCR, Greater Bangalore, or Greater Pune.
• Working hours include four core US-overlap hours from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. IST and four flexible IST hours.
• Annual pay range is INR 2,475,000–3,465,000.
