Senior Application Engineer- Java

Overview

Senior Application Engineer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting backend applications and databases using Java and related technologies.

What you'll do

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement applications and databases.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Integrate data sources, APIs, services, and third-party products.
• Develop secure, resilient backend interfaces with front-end teams.
• Maintain backend architecture and technical documentation.
• Deploy code across development, test, and production environments.
• Mentor less-experienced staff and provide production support.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a relevant master's degree or diploma.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, REST API, microservices, and API development skills.
• Experience with AWS ECS, Lambda, and IAM.
• Knowledge of database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Agile, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL, CSS, DB2, and API design.
• Mainframe experience with COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and mainframe debugging or support.
