Overview
Senior Integration/Distributed Data Strategy Architect focused on designing and evolving enterprise integration architecture.
What you'll do
- Design and implement API-first and event-driven architectures for real-time, scalable system communication.
- Define integration patterns across distributed systems using REST/gRPC APIs and asynchronous messaging.
- Define and enforce data contracts, schemas, and interface standards for consistent data exchange.
- Design for resilience in distributed systems, including preventing duplicate processing and handling retries/replays and fault tolerance.
- Modernize legacy integrations by reducing point-to-point dependencies for loosely coupled systems.
- Establish API lifecycle best practices including versioning, documentation, security, and governance.
What you'll need
- Experience designing and implementing scalable integration solutions across distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of API-based system design with synchronous and asynchronous patterns.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging concepts.
- Experience defining and managing interfaces and data exchange patterns across systems.
- Reliability understanding for distributed systems such as failures, retries, and duplicate processing.
- Proficiency in backend/service-based development using Java, Python, or similar.
Nice to have
- Experience with API management platforms or gateways (e.g., Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management).
- Hands-on experience with messaging/streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
- Familiarity with domain-driven design concepts like bounded contexts and service boundaries.
- Experience with contract-first APIs or schema-driven development approaches.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience participating in architecture governance processes (e.g., design reviews, reference architectures, ADRs).
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
- Education including a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
