Senior Associate, Application Developer Specialist in the Consumer Banking Group Technology team at DBS Bank, building and maintaining frontend applications for the bank's banking delivery channels.

What you'll do

• Build modern React applications using SPA architecture, styled components/CSS-in-JS, responsive and accessible UI design, API integration, and component-driven development.
• Design and implement micro frontend (MFE) architecture using Module Federation and independent deployment models.
• Optimize UI performance through lazy loading, code splitting, bundle optimization, and Web Vitals monitoring.
• Implement state management using Redux, Redux Saga, Zustand, and Context API.
• Practise test-driven development and automation testing with Jest, Playwright, and React Testing Library.
• Use Generative AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality, including code generation and refactoring, unit test creation, API documentation, code review assistance, root cause analysis, and performance optimization recommendations.
• Validate AI-generated code and apply responsible AI-assisted development practices, including security and compliance reviews and governance standards.
• Manage frontend deployment and hosting using CDN, Cloudflare, Apache, Nginx, OpenShift (OCP), and web package deployment strategies.
• Use observability and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, ELK, or equivalent frontend monitoring solutions.
• Contribute to frontend architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices, and drive technical decisions.
• Mentor developers and conduct code reviews.

What you'll need

• Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in frontend software development, with expertise in building scalable enterprise web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with React 17, 18, and 19, including functional components, hooks, component design patterns, performance optimization, and modern React architecture.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, problem solving, UI performance optimization, and software engineering principles.
• Experience building modern React applications using SPA architecture, styled components/CSS-in-JS, responsive and accessible UI design, API integration, SSR concepts, and component-driven development.
• Proven experience with micro frontend (MFE) architecture using Module Federation and independent deployment models.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), frontend design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices.
• Hands-on experience with state management frameworks such as Redux, Redux Saga, Zustand, and Context API.
• Strong knowledge of UI performance optimization techniques, including lazy loading, code splitting, bundle optimization, and Web Vitals.
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automation testing tools such as Jest, Playwright, and React Testing Library.
• Proficiency with modern SDLC and DevOps tools, including Git/Bitbucket, NPM/Yarn/PNPM, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, and JIRA.
• Experience with frontend deployment and hosting architectures, including CDN, Apache, Nginx, OpenShift (OCP), and web package deployment strategies.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, ELK, or equivalent frontend monitoring solutions.
• Experience in banking, payments, FinTech, or high-volume transaction processing systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native application development.
• Experience contributing to frontend architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Ability to mentor developers and conduct code reviews.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive technical decisions.
• Strong automation, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloudflare for frontend deployment and hosting.
• Familiarity with AngularJS and migration of AngularJS applications to React is a strong advantage.
• Exposure to iOS/Android native or hybrid mobile applications (native shell with React.js) and troubleshooting across web and mobile platforms.
• Contributions to engineering productivity initiatives, developer platforms, or AI-driven development practices.
