Senior Associate Japan KYC

Overview

Senior Associate in the KYC Team for Japan private and corporate clients, responsible for ongoing due diligence, risk assessment and KYC/AML subject matter expertise.

What you'll do

• Conduct ongoing due diligence on private/corporate Japan clients, including analysis of source of wealth/funds.
• Review domestic and cross-border transactions and assess sanctions exposure.
• Identify PEPs/RCAs and assess their risk.
• Verify KYC documentation and identify KYC/AML risks.
• Navigate complex corporate ownership and control structures and recommend escalations where appropriate.
• Ensure private client applications/clients are reviewed and processed efficiently, handling very high, high, medium and low risk clients appropriately.
• Analyse complex documentation, identify ongoing due diligence issues, and recommend practical solutions or escalation.
• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements, internal policies and business developments relevant to private Japan clients, acting as a KYC and AML subject matter expert.
• Identify potential improvements to the Team's process flows and procedures.
• Assist in creating, maintaining and aligning work instructions and procedures within Saxo Group.
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

What you'll need

• Japanese language certification at N1 or N2 level from a recognised Indian institution.
• More than 5-7 years of experience in private/corporate onboarding, ongoing due diligence, or a similar KYC role within financial services.
• Strong KYC, CDD and ongoing due diligence background, with demonstrated ability to assess private/corporate cases independently.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards.
• Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good team player.
• Ability to work independently and deliver within tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Japanese, oral and written (Japanese language expert).

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CAMS/ACAMS or similar.
