Senior Backend Engineer- Ruby

Overview

Senior Backend Engineer (Ruby/Ruby on Rails) to build and maintain backend systems for Easyship’s web applications, including scaling a RESTful API and improving performance.

What you'll do

• Participate in the entire product life cycle.
• Drive development of new products internally.
• Scale a RESTful API and optimize response times.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, debugging, and code generation.
• Work with engineering leadership and the product team to set priorities and manage the technical roadmap.
• Mentor junior developers and support training for internal teams.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of strong experience with Ruby on Rails and SQL databases.
• Strong experience building highly scalable systems.
• Writes clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
• Ability to uphold security and data privacy standards.
• Familiarity with Git and Git flow.
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Details

• Full-time, onsite role based in Bengaluru (MG Road) office.
• Follows UK collaboration hours (11:00 AM–8:00 PM IST).
