What you'll do

• Design and implement highly scalable, highly available backend services.
• Ensure monitoring and alerting are in place for backend services.
• Ramp into large, unfamiliar codebases, de-risk changes, assess blast radius, and ship confidently.
• Use AI as a core workflow: generate, pressure-test, verify, and catch AI mistakes.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle from requirements through maintenance.
• Write clear design docs and reshape under-specified problems to meet product needs.
• Partner with PMs to translate product intent into technical decisions and communicate progress.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in backend development.
• At least 3–4 years in senior positions.
• Experience building large-scale applications with observability.
• Solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design).
• Fluency using AI tools during real development work with judgment to verify outputs.
• Experience developing distributed web applications.
• Experience with RESTful services and database modeling (SQL or NoSQL).

Nice to have

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Mongo, Redis, Ruby on Rails, microservices, or machine learning.
