Senior Big Data Engineer

Overview

The Senior Big Data Engineer will design and improve scalable data architecture, pipelines, and analytics platforms while translating business needs into technical solutions.

What you'll do

• Design end-to-end data lakes, warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and analytics platforms.
• Architect streaming pipelines using Kafka, Flink, or Spark Streaming.
• Orchestrate automated workflows and dependencies with Apache Airflow.
• Design anomaly detection, alerting, rerouting, and process-restart systems.
• Define data governance, metadata management, and data quality standards.
• Lead architectural reviews and technical design sessions.
• Partner with business and IT teams on data architecture requirements.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, data science, or a related field.
• Programming experience with Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proficiency with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or similar pipeline tools.
• Knowledge of Azure or Google Cloud and cloud-native data services.
• Experience with data governance, Git, process automation, and Agile or DevOps environments.
• Experience with modern data stack, Hadoop/Spark, RDBMS, and data flow development.
