Senior Buyer

Overview

Purchase the materials, supplies, machinery and services that equip Applied Materials' manufacturing facilities, ensuring supply continuity and cost-effective procurement.

What you'll do

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Execute and manage pull-ins/push-outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross-functional team to drive problem resolution for supply issues with key stakeholders (i.e. engineering, manufacturing, Program Managers, Supplier Account Management).
• Drive purchasing activities to execute purchase at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
• Lead inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Manage and lead assigned Purchasing Projects (i.e. manage cost, schedule, and scope as required).
• Manage complex and sensitive information with supplier leadership team and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to purchasing process improvement within the team and act as trainer for department purchasing activities.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree.
• 7-9 years of experience.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers, competition in the marketplace.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to lead small projects and build consensus, as needed.
