Overview
Senior Cloud Security Engineer (AWS) for remote work in the USA. You lead threat modeling and security architecture, and use AI to accelerate secure design, IaC reviews, detection prototyping, and incident response.
What you'll do
- Lead threat modeling and security design discussions with platform and product teams.
- Review security architecture for new product features, assessing data exposure, access control, and abuse-case risk.
- Build preventative controls in AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Evaluate and uplift security tooling (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability management, CSPM).
- Prototype automation for signal correlation, alert enrichment, and auto-remediation, then productionize what works.
- Architect and validate integrations between AWS and security tooling (e.g., SIEM/SOAR/IAM tools).
- Serve as a hands-on technical contributor during security incidents and own judgment calls for root cause/response.
What you'll need
- Proven delivery in security engineering or infrastructure security roles (ideally cloud-native).
- Deep comprehension of native AWS architecture and identity/access patterns (IAM, STS, cross-account roles, VPC/network segmentation, KMS).
- Working knowledge of Azure and GCP.
- Strong scripting and developer fundamentals in Python and/or Go.
- Proficiency with Git, Linux, and infrastructure automation patterns.
- Ability to direct AI coding/agent tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and catch incorrect or dangerous outputs.
- Expertise integrating/building tooling for SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability management, and CSPM.
