Senior Data Protection Engineer

Overview

Senior Data Protection Engineer in Commvault Managed Services, responsible for day-to-day operational management of customers’ Commvault solutions.

What you'll do

• Interact with customers via phone and email to solve problems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues.
• Install and configure Commvault hardware and software to meet customer requirements.
• Onboard new accounts in partnership with internal teams.
• Perform data migration from existing backup infrastructure to new infrastructure.
• Install and configure backup agents for applications, databases, and hypervisors.
• Maintain case ownership and provide periodic progress updates to customers.

What you'll need

• 9+ years of relevant experience in Technical Support/Professional Services/Managed Services/Backup Administration.
• Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science/IT/Electronics) OR Bachelor of Computer Application + Master of Computer Application.
• Strong knowledge of Networking, Storage, and Linux; includes TCP/IP networking proficiency.
• Proficiency with SCSI, iSCSI, or Fibre Channel.
• Experience implementing, including advanced troubleshooting, Commvault backup and recovery (Microsoft 365, Microsoft applications, and database backups such as Oracle and SAP/Oracle, SAP HANA).
• Proficiency with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency with private cloud (VMware, Hyper-V).
