Senior Design Engineer

Overview

Senior Design Engineer to drive R&D and product development activities for medical technology products across design, verification, and lifecycle/sustenance. Role includes translating requirements to specifications, optimizing designs using DFSS and DFX criteria, and leading verification documentation and protocols.

What you'll do

• Drive R&D efforts across product development phases.
• Translate customer and operational requirements into verifiable product requirements and specifications.
• Optimize designs across material, form factor, process, and human factors considerations.
• Critically evaluate and analyze system performance and reliability and interpret design verification data.
• Implement DFSS rigor and define/plan/lead test method & measurement system development, validation, and testing optimization.
• Lead verification protocol creation and execution, summarize results, and enable formal design reviews.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver design solutions and ensure design control compliance.

What you'll need

• 6-10 years of experience leading/supporting product development projects in medical device/pharma or related industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, materials, or biomedical engineering (or closely related technical field).
• Hands-on experience in design and development of high-volume products.
• Understanding/experience implementing product changes through a structured, phase-gated product development process.
• Knowledge of Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), Lean Engineering, and Lean Product Development methodologies.
• Good understanding of medical device product development risk management methodologies (e.g., EURA, FMEA).
• Strong interpersonal/influence, written/verbal communication, and cross-functional project leadership skills.
