Senior Design Engineer

Overview

Senior Design Engineer contributing to the Motion Traction Business in Bangalore, creating, modifying and analyzing the design of equipment, systems or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction.

What you'll do

• Create, modify and analyze the design of equipment, systems or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction.
• Optimize designs to meet updated standards and incorporate new products, components and functionalities.
• Apply design thinking or design best practices concepts in projects.
• Design and develop hardware for converters for railway applications, such as traction converters, auxiliary converters and battery chargers.
• Conceptualize new designs and translate concepts into formal electronic design drawings.
• Review drawings and specifications and communicate requirements to vendors and customers.
• Understand and update all product schematics and other design documentation.
• Provide input and recommend changes to new and existing product designs.
• Perform design calculations and simulations.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, electronics or power electronics engineering.
• 8+ years of related work experience.
• Good experience in power electronics, traction converters, auxiliary converters and railway applications.
• Power engineering applied to railway products with 4-5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in design software including MATLAB and E3 schematic.
• Ability to perform and analyze results from simulations and hand calculations.
