Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

Senior DevOps Engineer working on SumUp’s cloud infrastructure platform services in an office-first setup in Berlin.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain Terraform modules and infrastructure patterns.
• Manage production Kubernetes clusters on EKS, including performance tuning and service mesh implementation.
• Lead security and compliance work across PCI DSS and SOC2 frameworks with the Security team.
• Define and monitor service reliability metrics and participate in on-call rotation.
• Improve developer experience via automation, CI/CD pipeline improvements, and clearer documentation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical design discussions.

What you'll need

• At least 8 years of experience in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on software development experience (Go preferred).
• Experience designing and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Strong Kubernetes production knowledge, including cluster operations and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, and load balancing.
• Ability to work within security and compliance requirements.
