Senior Director - Data & AI Engineering (Cybersecurity/Network Security Domain Experience Required)

Overview

Hands-on Senior Director of Data & AI Engineering to lead a newly formed Data & AI team, bridging technical innovation and product delivery for cybersecurity AI features.

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and align a team of data and AI/ML architects.
• Stay actively hands-on by writing code, architecting solutions, and unblocking bottlenecks.
• Partner with Product Management to define the AI roadmap and translate breakthroughs into customer features.
• Collaborate with core security researchers and platform engineers to integrate data and AI runtime pipelines.
• Work with UX to ensure AI recommendations, summaries, and analyses fit user workflows.
• Drive agile execution and delivery from ideation to production, balancing speed with security, compliance, and model guardrails.
• Communicate technical concepts, timelines, and business impact to executives, customers, and cross-functional teams.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• At least 3+ years managing high-performing data, machine learning, or platform engineering teams.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, distributed data systems, or machine learning (including generative AI and LLM orchestration).
• Ability to write code and dive into technical design documents.
• Proven experience shipping complex, data-driven features or enterprise SaaS products from scratch.
• Experience in a security product environment is highly preferred (security logs, firewall/cloud configurations, threat detection, or compliance frameworks).
• Exceptional communication to translate between technical AI/data concepts and business value.
