Senior Electrical Integration Engineer

Overview

Senior Electrical Integration Engineer on the Electrical Integration Team, responsible for engineering safe, reliable, production-ready electrical systems across Exponent's products, covering HV/LV design, battery systems, HW-FW integration, FMEA, harness design, protection coordination and OEM integration.

What you'll need

• Experience in electrical design
• Design and coordination of multi-stage protection schemes
• Sizing and selection of protection devices and switchgears
• Cable sizing
• Insulation coordination
• Deep understanding of IR and dielectric properties
• Creepage and clearance understanding
• Understanding of earthing and grounding design and configurations
• Understanding of standards and guidelines: IS, IEC, ISO, SAE, CSA, NFPA, CEA, NEC, NBC
• Electrical and HVDC safety understanding
• Experience in integration of electronics and power electronics
• Hardware schematic, PCBA and component functionality and rating understanding (must)
• Sensors and actuators integration (must)
• Power electronics converter understanding (must)
• UART, CAN, MODBUS, SPI protocol and hardware implementation understanding (must)
• MCU peripheral configuration, ADCs
• Debugging of bugs related to hardware-software interaction
• Electro-mechanical experience
• Fluid flow and heat transfer calculations
• Understanding of filters and ingress protection
• Packaging and separation in enclosures
• Understanding of chillers and HVAC systems
• Strong understanding of DFMEA (must)
• Deep experience of RCA in electro-mechanical systems (must)
• Experience: 6-8 years
