Senior Engineer

Overview

Engineer / Senior Engineer on the Avionics Flight Display Systems team at Thales India Engineering Competency Center, responsible for software development (requirement capture, design, code, and V&V) for avionics flight display software.

What you'll do

• Develop application software for avionics systems (Flight Display System) in C / Embedded C, following DO-178B/C standards.
• Understand architectures, multi-threaded program development, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for avionics systems.
• Debug, fix bugs in, and enhance existing software.
• Perform development free-hands testing and regression testing on existing features.
• Ensure quality deliveries before hand-off to Quality Assurance teams for further testing and verification.
• Participate in an Agile team, respecting deadlines and contractual milestones.

What you'll need

• Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or equivalent discipline.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Expert in Embedded C programming.
• Expert in memory usage and execution time allocation.
• Good understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA).
• Strong in RTRT.
• Knowledge of data structures.
• Knowledge of DO-178B/C.
• Knowledge of coding standards such as MISRA.
• Strong in writing system specifications, high-level requirements and low-level requirements.
• Strong in high-level test and low-level test definition procedures, with hands-on verification experience.
• Overall engineering experience in software development of avionics embedded systems and experience in software development life cycles.
• Knowledge of configuration management tool git.
• Knowledge of avionics protocols (A429, A664 – AFDX, RS232, ARINC 653).
• Good organizational abilities.
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Good experience on Cockpit Display and Graphics, Primary Flight Display, Multi-Functional Display, and Flight Management System functionality.
