Overview
Senior Engineer Design role focused on NAND core circuit design, optimization and integration within Micron's memory and storage products.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize critical NAND core circuits, including row drivers, column drivers, sense amplifiers, and associated control circuitry.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve power, performance, area, and timing across block and subsystem designs.
- Perform circuit analysis and optimization from base-cell level through full-chip integration using simulation tools such as HSPICE, FastSPICE, and NC-Verilog.
- Drive block-level and subsystem-level design, timing optimization, verification, and layout supervision.
- Collaborate closely with the Logic/RTL team to define, explain, and support Flash array functionality and ensure proper integration between custom circuits and digital logic.
- Develop integrated Analog/Mixed-Signal (AMS) solutions by combining custom analog/circuit design with digital/RTL techniques to enable more efficient architectures, improved performance, and faster design execution.
- Work with project teams to define the full-chip floorplan and ensure optimal placement and integration of core circuits.
- Partner with Technology teams to develop, optimize, and finalize array operating conditions and waveforms.
- Drive circuit-level analysis to identify design margins, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for architectural improvement.
- Leverage scripting and automation to improve design, simulation, validation, data analysis, and overall engineering productivity.
- Adopt a "Design + AI" methodology, applying AI-enabled and Agentic AI technologies to accelerate design and validation, improve productivity, and enhance engineering effectiveness.
- Mentor junior design engineers and provide technical guidance to help grow the team's design capabilities.
- Develop and maintain block-level and subsystem-level Micro-Architecture Specifications (MAS) and other design documentation in accordance with applicable quality and industry standards, including ISO 26262 where relevant.
What you'll need
- MS with 2 years of relevant semiconductor industry experience, or BS with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Deep understanding of CMOS device physics, semiconductor circuit behavior, and reliability mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of Flash/NAND memory architecture, cell-array functionality, and core circuit operation.
