Senior Engineer-Gas Turbine Combustion Design

Overview

Senior Engineer for Gas Turbine Combustion design, responsible for leading NPI and Fleet combustion projects with ownership of mechanical design, schedules, and deliverable quality.

What you'll do

• Lead and execute mechanical design of the combustion system for a gas turbine engine.
• Independently solve programs’ combustion design challenges, including RCAs and supplier/manufacturing issues.
• Perform detailed 2D/3D analyses to evaluate and mitigate component and system-level risks.
• Drive variable cost productivity for combustion components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Aero Thermal, operability, services, and systems.
• Develop technology improvement road maps based on fleet history and identified gaps between analytical and lab/field data.

What you'll need

• Master’s or bachelor’s in engineering with specialization in Mechanical, Design and Applied mechanics.
• At least 10+ years of experience in Gas Turbine mechanical design, FE analysis, and related techniques/tools.
• Experience with Lifing techniques, GD&T, stack-up calculations, engineering drawings, and Bill of Materials.
• Expertise in component structural design (recognized expert).
• Experience with LCF, HCF, fracture mechanics, and high temp creep calculations and assessment.
• Fleet life management and component ownership experience.
