Senior Engineer- Mechanical

Overview

Senior mechanical engineer supporting the design and development of Air Circuit Breaker mechanisms, cassettes, accessories and integration, and LV circuit breaker subsystems (ACB and MCCB).

What you'll do

• Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Testing and Release) following a structured engineering process to ensure quality and reliability.
• Support the design of the mechanism, arc chute and housing for LV circuit breakers (ACB and MCCB).
• Design, develop and test LV circuit breaker subsystems such as mechanism, arc chute and housing.
• Apply in-depth design knowledge of sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Select and integrate different sensors.
• Collaborate with external and internal customers, including Product Management, Field Service, Operations and other engineering teams.
• Drive technology design with a team of engineers both locally and remotely.
• Leverage Design for Six Sigma for reliable, on-time product launches.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4-7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design and development of subsystems such as mechanism, arc chute, trip unit and housing used in LV circuit breakers (ACB and MCCB).
• Understanding of plastic and sheet metal parts.
• Six Sigma certification.
• Understanding of the mechanism of ACB and MCCB.
• Understanding of UL 489, UL 1066 and IEC 60947-1,2 standards.
• Understanding of stored energy mechanisms and low voltage circuit breaker functioning.
• Hands-on experience in mechanism design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing of sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Good knowledge of modeling software Creo 7.0 and Enovia.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English to communicate information effectively to customers and technical staff.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience of Configuration Engineering and BID Manager, and handling label systems for a global plant.
• Experience of ACB testing at external certification labs.
• Practical application examples of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology.
