Mechanical Engineer III (Senior)

Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for providing engineering input to product development projects and delivering moderately complex product and component designs.

What you'll do

• Design, validate, and bring new products to market.
• Define functional requirements and integrate moderately complex components.
• Design and evaluate fitness-for-use testing and process validation plans.
• Create and review material specifications and bills of materials.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability with internal and external manufacturing partners.
• Use CAD or CAE systems to create models and detailed engineering drawings.
• Mentor and teach less experienced engineers.

What you'll need

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling using ProE or SolidWorks.
• Experience with new product design and development.
• Knowledge of machine design and materials including plastics, aluminum castings, and sheet metal.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead aspects of cross-functional projects.

Nice to have

• Experience creating and releasing engineering Change Notices, parts, and bills of material.
• Experience with Windchill or equivalent PLM.
• Experience with FEA, CFD, SAP or equivalent ERP, and MS Office.
• Experience designing weather-protective or sound-attenuated enclosures.
• Experience working in a matrix organization.
