Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer role focused on designing mechanical components and interfacing them with electrical and software components.

What you'll do

• Apply physics and hand calculations to determine mechanical strength and stiffness.
• Interface mechanical components with electrical components and software.
• Select off-the-shelf components such as motors, belts, pulleys, and ball screws.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape for hands-on work.
• Perform structural design using Ansys (or equivalent) and CAD using Creo (or equivalent).
• Manage component lifecycle using Windchill PDM/PLM.
• Conduct verification and experimental testing at component/subsystem level.

What you'll need

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in design & development of system/subsystem with plastic molded and sheet-metal components.
• Experience using DFM/DFA concepts in design.
• Knowledge of manufacturability considerations for plastic, sheet metal, and casting components.
• Familiarity with standard NPI/NPD process (ideation to industrialization).

Nice to have

• Experience in Medical Device development and knowledge of IEC 60601 standards.
