Senior Engineer- Mechanical

Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer working on medium-voltage control and assemblies (MVCA), delivering design solutions and executing NPI projects.

What you’ll do

• Provide experienced design solutions for medium voltage control and assemblies in new product development.
• Design innovative solutions and execute NPI projects with timely, quality deliverables.
• Support prototype development, and prepare type test plans and product certification with UL.
• Interact with global MVCA teams and relevant engineering stakeholders to execute new product development.
• Implement Dfx best practices during product design.
• Coordinate with SCM for prototype development and NPI development testing.
• Support production order issues and maintain deliverable timelines.

What you’ll need

• 7–10 years of experience in MV switchgear design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, Pro-E, SolidWorks, or Ideas.
• Ability to create new detail and assembly drawings for complex designs (mechanical, electrical, or electronic).
• Knowledge/understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic principles.
• Understanding of MV switchgear & assemblies design standards IEC/UL/IEEE.
• Solid problem-solving skills to analyze product failure issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in a global environment.

Nice to have

• DFSS/DMAIC certification desirable and knowledge of Lean Six Sigma.
• Ability to write articles for trade/technical publications, present papers, and prepare patent disclosures.
