Senior Engineer, Research and Technology Development - Mechanical

Overview

Lead the design, development, qualification, and lifecycle support of downhole wireline technologies as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Provide technical leadership for complex projects and collaborate with global cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Lead mechanical design and development from concept through commercialization.
• Perform stress, fatigue, vibration, tolerance, reliability, and FEA analyses.
• Develop drawings, 3D models, specifications, calculations, bills of material, and technical documentation.
• Plan and execute design verification, qualification, environmental, functional, reliability, and field validation testing.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for failures and reliability concerns.
• Support sustaining engineering, cost reduction, obsolescence mitigation, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians.

What you'll need

• 5–7 years of downhole tool design and development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Expertise in mechanical design, materials selection, manufacturing processes, and product qualification.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
• Experience with ANSYS or equivalent FEA software.
• Experience with HPHT, high-load mechanical systems, pressure-containing equipment, or harsh-environment applications.
• Ability to lead technical workstreams with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in wireline, completions, drilling, intervention, or other downhole technology.
• Knowledge of NACE requirements and ISO/API standards.
• Experience with reliability engineering, DFM, and DFA.
• Experience leading cross-functional or global engineering initiatives.
