Senior Engineer - Technical Backend

Overview

Senior backend technical engineer providing second-level support for hardware and software issues in propulsion equipment used in three-phase electric locomotives, EMUs and metros.

What you'll do

• Provide second-level technical support for running product lines.
• Resolve hardware and software issues in propulsion equipment.
• Coordinate with global engineering and PLCM teams on corrective actions.
• Analyze product control logic and propose product improvements.
• Test and validate software and logic modifications in laboratory and field environments.
• Fine-tune software through analysis and validation.
• Support technical interactions with customers and internal teams.

What you'll need

• Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 5–7 years of experience with three-phase electric locomotives, EMUs or metro propulsion chains.
• Experience resolving critical problems and understanding electrical schematics, logic and controls.
• Expertise troubleshooting rolling-stock equipment and drive-train faults.
• Expertise troubleshooting IGBT-based propulsion systems, auxiliaries and battery chargers.
• Good communication and structured problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the globe.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electrical installations in rail vehicles.
• Knowledge of CANopen, J1939, Ethernet TCP/IP, UDP, TRDP or MVB protocols.
