R&D Control and HIL Test Engineer

Overview

Validate hardware, control functions, and power conversion systems for industrial and renewable energy applications. Support testing, debugging, automation, grid code compliance, certification, and quality processes.

What you'll do

• Define and execute validation activities for power electronic products and systems.
• Translate technical requirements into validation plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Execute tests in factory and field environments.
• Analyze system stability under transients, faults, voltage dips, and frequency disturbances.
• Simulate, validate, and debug control algorithms for grid code compliance.
• Develop test automation frameworks and scripts for lab and HIL validation.
• Prepare validation reports and maintain requirements traceability.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronics, or a related field.
• Experience designing electrical systems and power electronics converters and controls.
• Hands-on experience with test benches, validation setups, and HIL systems.
• Knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC power converter topologies.
• Experience with PSCAD, Simulink, or PLECS.
• Ability to analyze system behavior and prepare structured validation documentation.
