Test Engineer - Product Assurance

Overview

Test Engineer - Product Assurance is responsible for product validation through mechanical testing, traceability, and approval of test documentation.

What you'll do

• Develop and own Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R) aligned to product requirements and standards.
• Plan and execute mechanical tests across durability, lifecycle, performance, and environmental categories.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, DVP&R, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
• Design, develop, and validate mechanical test fixtures, jigs, and automated test rigs.
• Set up measurement and data acquisition systems and configure sensors and DAQ parameters for data capture.
• Define PLC/automated test system requirements and collaborate to develop and optimize PLC logic.
• Lead root cause analysis using structured methods and correlate lab test results to field performance.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, testing, validation, or product assurance roles.
• Strong DVP&R execution and mechanical product validation experience.
• Hands-on experience with DEWESoft (or similar) data logging systems.
• Knowledge of sensors, DAQ systems, signal conditioning, and calibration.
• Experience with PLC-based or automated test systems.
• Strong RCA and failure analysis capability.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent).

Nice to have

• Experience with architectural door hardware and exposure to BHMA / UL standards.
