Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Overview

Senior Fire Protection Engineer supporting the FAA Fire Life Safety Program through program guidance, condition risk assessments, policy development, planning, investigations, and technical consultation.

What you'll do

• Review Condition Risk Assessment reports before customer delivery.
• Develop and maintain CRA templates, guides, SOPs, schedules, and tracking logs.
• Assist with fire investigations and CRA report closeout meetings.
• Develop code and standards analyses, technical guides, and facility specifications.
• Provide guidance on Fire Life Safety codes, standards, and program initiatives.
• Coordinate CRA site visits and mitigate findings from site assessments.
• Support FLS program planning, training, hiring, and consultation.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree with 8 or more years of relevant exempt experience, or a master's degree with 6 or more years.
• At least 5 years of progressive Fire Life Safety or Fire Protection experience.
• Professional Engineering License in Fire Protection Engineering, or willingness and ability to obtain one.
• Strong knowledge of applicable ICC and NFPA codes.
• Experience developing or providing holistic consultation on FLS programs.
• Experience producing FLS designs and reviewing FLS designs and installations.
• Experience training others on FLS concepts and code application.

Nice to have

• Experience with FAA or similar government facilities.
• Experience with 29 CFR 1960.20.
• Federal agency program experience, especially with the FAA.
• Training on the use and maintenance of Fire Protection systems.

Details

• Remote position in the United States.
• Travel up to 50% within the central United States.
• Pay range: $92,300 to $166,850 per year.
• Public Trust clearance must be obtainable.
