Senior Frontend Engineer - Marketplace Discovery & Shopping

Overview

Senior Frontend Software Engineer on the Marketplace team, architecting and scaling the applications that power Roblox's Avatar Marketplace, the core digital storefront for one of the largest virtual economies globally.

What you'll do

• Own high-traffic, mission-critical surfaces visited by millions of users daily.
• Architect and build marketplace experiences that drive discovery and monetization for independent creators and brands.
• Design, build, and optimize cross-platform UI/UX across iOS, Android, Xbox, and VR platforms.
• Partner with Product, Design and Data Science teams to run A/B tests, analyze user interactions, and optimize the purchase funnel.
• Take ownership and drive projects throughout their full lifecycle.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience building responsive, complex user interfaces at scale.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, React Native, or similar).
• Strong intuition for user experience.
• Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, and using data to inform product decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

• Experience with e-commerce, monetization platforms, or personalization systems.

Details

• Location: San Mateo, CA, United States (headquarters).
• Roles based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
• Annual base salary range: $196,750 to $243,290 USD.
• Full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and benefits.
• For US-based roles only: the Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time.
