Senior Full Stack Engineer – Node.js

Overview

Senior Full Stack Engineer responsible for building and operating high-performance Node.js backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications for Agilent’s digital ecosystem. The role focuses on scalable applications, edge computing, search, databases, and customer-facing digital capabilities.

What you'll do

• Architect, develop, and maintain Node.js backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
• Build applications for edge runtimes including Akamai Edge Workers, AWS Lambda Edge, and CloudFront Functions.
• Design NoSQL databases and search indexes for end-to-end API flows.
• Address complex technical challenges involving scale and performance.
• Mentor engineering peers and uphold code quality standards.
• Maintain modern infrastructure aligned with development best practices.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of experience in API development.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in Python, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Experience deploying and operating Node.js applications on AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with edge execution, serverless functions, caching, latency optimisation, and runtime constraints.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, OpenSearch or other search technologies, and graph databases.
• Familiarity with API standards, trade-off analysis, and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Experience working in distributed teams.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
