Senior Full Stack Engineer - Vice President

Overview

Senior Full Stack Engineer (Vice President level) leading engineering activities for enterprise software systems. The role is part of an agile team building Spring Boot, Java and Angular Material applications on a CI/CD pipeline on the ECS platform using a microservice architecture.

What you'll do

• Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap.
• Deploy and train Generative and Agentic AI applications while enforcing Responsible AI controls for safety and soundness.
• Provide technical leadership, guiding the team and advising or mentoring junior team members.
• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency, highly scalable applications for mission-critical application services.
• Perform full stack development using Java, Spring Boot framework with Angular.
• Carry out day-to-day development work in an Agile development environment using JIRA.
• Develop application code, and perform integration testing and deployment using CI/CD framework using GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins, BMC LightSpeed, etc.
• Design application workflows with Kafka and handle configuration of Topics, Partitions, Brokers etc.
• Use caches such as Redis, Memcached, Couchbase etc.
• Write unit tests in JavaScript using modern testing tools.
• Write unit tests using mocking frameworks.
• Secure the microservice applications to comply with Citi security standards.
• Develop and implement monitoring controls and integrate them with monitoring and reporting tools.
• Tune the application's performance and availability to meet application SLOs and SLAs.
• Contribute to SRE team work on continuous improvement.
• Collaborate on end-to-end resiliency and continuity of business tests.
• Provide level 3 support on critical application issues, collaborating across multiple teams to resolve issues and ensure application stability.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Full stack Development and Automation role, especially with Springboot framework with Micro services, Core Java/J2EE, Node-JS, Spring Boot, Angular and/or React, API development, etc.
• Working knowledge in deploying and harnessing Generative and Agentic AI applications while enforcing Responsible AI controls for safety and soundness.
• Deep knowledge of SOA and Microservices, REST Services Development.
• Strong knowledge of Software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience using LightSpeed, Jenkins, GitHub, CI/CD, Harness, COIN.
• Working knowledge of databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB.
• Broad knowledge of web standards relating to APIs (OAuth, SSL, JWT etc.).
• Knowledge of Containers, ECS, Docker, Kubernetes etc.
• Working experience in Agile development environment using JIRA.
• Kafka or any messaging experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and collaborate with ease.
• Project Management experience.
• Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment.
• Working knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, ELK, Splunk.
• Domain knowledge of enterprise level databases such as Oracle, MongoDB, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices.
• Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
• Proven track record of operational process changes and improvement.
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Master's degree.
• Experience developing automation, preferably in Ansible scripting; Python coding is a huge plus.
