Senior Hydroelectricity and Dams Engineer - Heavy Mechanical

Overview

Senior Heavy Mechanical Engineer focused on design, integration, and implementation of mechanical equipment for hydroelectric power plants and water retention/dam projects.

What you'll do

• Serve as senior technical reference for heavy mechanical engineering on hydroelectric and dam projects.
• Define design criteria and design bases for mechanical systems and ensure standards/code compliance.
• Perform or supervise calculations, analyses, and equipment selection.
• Prepare, review, and approve technical deliverables including drawings, tender documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with civil, structural, and electrical disciplines.
• Conduct site surveys and integrate existing conditions into design.
• Provide construction-phase technical support such as shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, inspections, and commissioning.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of specific experience designing heavy mechanical equipment for hydroelectric facilities.
• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for immediate registration.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex assignments with sound technical recommendations.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
